Acne, also known as Acne Vulgaris, is simply put- an inflammatory disease of the skin. Acne shows itself in the form of pimples, zits or spots. It is often caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units. The pilosebaceous units refer to the skin which consists of hair follicles and sebaceous glands. "Acne" derives from the Greek words "acme" (which means skin erruption) and "bacne" or "backne". The latter terms are often used to refer to the form of acne found on one's back.
A healthy glowing skin free of blemishes is crucial to one's social life, especially in the life of young adolescents. Thus, acne is oftentimes considered a curse that one may bring even until adult years. And though acne cannot be totally prevented or avoided, here are some precautions that can actually help minimize, if not prevent, the outbreaks of acne.

Many of them are used as preservatives and dyes in processed food and drinks . Others are used in products that we use every day! Thinking that consuming foods that contain these chemicals day after day will have no adverse effects is absurd.
